శ్రీకృష్ణుడు స్వయంగా విశ్వకర్మకు ఈ చెట్ల విశేషాలను గురించి వివరించి చెప్పాడు. ద్వారకా నగర నిర్మాణ సందర్భంగా ఒక మహానగరాన్ని ఎలా నిర్మించాలో, ఆ నగరంలో ఏ దిక్కున ఏవి ఉండాలో ఎవరెవరి నివాసాలు ఎంతెంత ఎత్తు, వెడల్పు, లోతు లాంటి పరిమాణాలతో ఉండాలో వివరించాక చెట్ల ప్రస్తావన తెచ్చాడు శ్రీకృష్ణుడు.

ఇళ్ళ ఆవరణల్లో కేవలం శుభకరమైన చెట్లు, పూలతీగలు, ఫలాలనిచ్చే వృక్షాలు ఉండాలి అని విశ్వకర్మను కృష్ణుడు హెచ్చరించాడు. అప్పుడు విశ్వకర్మ నగర నిర్మాణం జరిగాక గృహాల ఆవరణల్లో ఏ మంచి చెట్లను ఉంచాలో, నగరం లోపల ఉద్యానవనాలలో ఎలాంటి పూలతోటలను, చెట్లను పెంచాలో వివరించమని భక్తితో కోరాడు.

ఆ సందర్భంగా కృష్ణుడు శుభప్రదమైన మొక్కలు పూలతీగల, చెట్ల విశేషాలను చెప్పాడు. గృహస్థులు ఉండే గృహాల ఆవరణలో కొబ్బరి చెట్టు ధన ప్రదం. 

ఇంటికి ఈశాన్యంలోనూ, తూర్పుభాగంలోనూ ఈ చెట్లు ఉండాలి. తాటిచెట్టు ఎక్కడైనా ఉండొచ్చు. 

రాజు ఉండే ప్రాంగణాల తూర్పు దిక్కులో మామిడి చెట్టు ఉంటే సంపదలు కలుగుతాయి. మామిడి ఏ దిక్కున ఉన్నా శుభప్రదమే.

మారేడు, పనస, రేగు, నిమ్మచెట్లు తూర్పు దిక్కులో ఉంటే సంతానప్రదం. ఇవి దక్షిణంలోనూ, ఇతర దిక్కులలోనూ ఉన్నప్పుడు ధనప్రద ఫలితాన్నిస్తాయి. 

ఈ చెట్లన్నీ గృహస్థుడికి ఎంతో వృద్ధిని చేకూరుస్తాయి.

గ్రామంలోనూ, నగరంలోనూ కరక్కాయ చెట్టు ఉండడం శుభప్రదం. ఉసిరి చెట్టు కూడా ఇలాంటి ఫలితాన్నే ఇస్తుంది. 

ఉదయాన్నే లేచి తులసి చెట్టు చూసిన వ్యక్తికి బంగారం దానం చేసిన ఫలితం లభిస్తుంది.

 మాలతి, మొల్ల, కుందం, మాధవి, మొగిలి, నాగకేసరం, మల్లె, పొగడ, విష్ణుక్రాంతం అనే చెట్లు ఇంటి ఆవరణలో ఉండటం మంచిది. 

వీటితో ఉద్యానవనాలను కూడా పెంచవచ్చు. ఇవి తూర్పు దక్షిణ దిశల్లో ఉంటే మంచి ఫలితం లభిస్తుంది. గృహస్థుడు ఇలాంటి చెట్లను పూల పండ్ల తీగలను తన ఇంటి ఆవరణలో ఉండేలా చూసుకోవాలి.

అలాగే బూరుగ, చింత, వేప, వావిరి చెట్లను ఇంట్లో పెంచకూడదు. ఇవి అశుభకరాలు. ఉమ్మెత్త, రావి, ఆముదం, లాంటి చెట్లుకూడా ఇంట్లో ఉండటం మేలు కాదు. 

భూమిలోకి ఎక్కువ దూరం వేళ్ళు పాతుకొనిపోయే చెట్లను ఇంట్లో పెంచకూడదు. బూరుగ చెట్టు ­రి వెలుపల అడవికే పరిమితం. ఇంట్లో మర్రి చెట్టు ఉంటే దొంగల భయం కలుగుతుంది.

 చింతచెట్టు ఇంట్లో ఉంటే ధనహాని. ఇలాంటి చెట్లు ఇళ్ళలో కాక వీధులలోనూ, వనాలలోనూ ఉండవచ్చు. 

బూరుగ విషయంలో అది ఇంట్లోకాని నగరంలో కాని ఉంటే దుఃఖప్రదం. కనుక అది లేకుండా జాగ్రత్త వహించాలి అని శ్రీకృష్ణుడు విశ్వకర్మకు వివరించి చెప్పాడు.
