The Three Main Reasons Behind the Incarnation of Lord
Venkateswara
1. To Redeem Humanity in Kali Yuga
One day, Sage Narada approached Lord Maha Vishnu
and said that in Kali Yuga, human beings live for a very short time and
have almost no devotion toward God.
Lord Maha Vishnu replied:
“To wash away their sins and uplift them, I will incarnate as Sri
Venkateswara. Even if they come to my sacred hill just once, offer their
hair, have my darshan, and perform even a single earned service—
that alone will give them the same merit as performing an Ashwamedha Yagna
in Kali Yuga (which is extremely difficult and even prohibited in this age).
Even if they cannot offer money, offering their hair is enough. I will take
away their sins.”
2. To Fulfill Yashoda’s Unfulfilled Wish
In Dwapara Yuga, Yashoda was blessed with the
fortune of raising child Krishna. No one else in this world was as
fortunate as her.
Without even asking, she was granted the vision of Vishwaroopa
(cosmic form) two or three times. Krishna’s childhood pastimes were far from
ordinary.
While Vyasa Maharshi wrote the Bhagavata Purana
in Sanskrit and Pothana translated it into Telugu, Yashoda still had one
unfulfilled desire—
she could not witness Rukmini Kalyanam (Krishna’s marriage).
When she expressed this sorrow, Krishna promised her:
“In Kali Yuga, I will incarnate as Lord Venkateswara. You will be born
as Vakula Mata, and you will conduct my marriage.”
3. To Marry Vedavati (Later Padmavati Devi)
Just as Sita Devi was found on sacred grass (Darbha),
Vedavati too was discovered in a similar divine way. As she grew up and
reached marriageable age, her father decided to arrange her marriage.
Vedavati declared, “I will marry Sri Srinivasa (Vishnu)
and no one else.”
Her father replied, “Marrying Srinivasa is no ordinary
thing. Look at how much penance Parvati Devi performed to attain Lord
Shiva.”
Hearing this, Vedavati went to the Himavat mountain
and began intense penance.
During her penance, Ravana tried to abduct her.
Vedavati cursed him, saying:
“You will be destroyed because of a woman—and that woman will be Sita.”
After uttering the curse, she entered the fire.
At that moment, Agni Devata (Fire God) protected her
and accepted her as his daughter.
Later, when Ravana abducted Sita, Agni Devata confronted him
and said angrily,
“The Sita in your chariot is not the real Sita—it is Maya Sita. The real
Sita is with me.”
Ravana, believing this, happily took Maya Sita to Lanka.
The real Sita remained with Agni Devata.
On behalf of the real Sita, Vedavati stayed in Ashoka
Vatika for 12 months, brought Lord Rama there, and ensured Ravana’s
destruction.
After completing her purpose, Vedavati returned to Agni
Devata.
Vedavati and Sita Are One
Sita is the embodiment of the Vedas, and Vedavati is
also the embodiment of the Vedas.
They are not two separate beings—they are one and the same.
About Ravana
Ravana studied the Vedas and performed Sandhya Vandana
regularly.
He performed great penance but lacked devotion and humility. His crooked
mindset never changed—
and that is why he was killed by Lord Rama.
Though he worshipped Lord Shiva intensely, he failed to
realize that Sita herself was Parvati.
He desired only the physical form, not the divine truth.
Because Vedavati stayed in Ashoka Vatika for 12 months on
behalf of Sita,
Agni Devata requested Lord Rama to accept Vedavati also as his wife.
Lord Rama replied:
“In this incarnation, I follow Eka Patni Vrata (vow of one wife).
But in Kali Yuga, when I incarnate as Lord Venkateswara,
I will marry Vedavati as Goddess Padmavati.”
